Dr. Voddie Baucham

(1)Family Discipleship – How to Pass On the Faith One Generation at a Time

Most Christian parents, if they are honest, haven’t a clue as to how to disciple the children God has entrusted to them. Thankfully, the Bible gives clear instructions. Do you have a plan to disciple your children? Do you have a vision for the men and women of God they are to become? This session will challenge and encourage you to prepare your children to walk with God.

(13)Education and Worldview: How Education Affects Worldview & What That Means for Your Child

What is a worldview? How are worldviews developed? Is there a correlation between worldview and education? Does it matter where and how we educate our children? Should Christians send their children to public schools? This message tackles the issue of public education head on. There is a mass exodus of young adults from the church. This message demonstrates the role worldview plays in the contemporary crisis. Whether you are a parent, or you plan to be, you need to listen to this message.

(26)Getting Your House in Order

Dr. Baucham turns his attention to the Christian home and explains what an "orderly" home should look like. Expounding on the Old Testament text of Deuteronomy 6, Voddie highlights six characteristics of a properly ordered home. Through personal testimony and biblical instruction, Voddie educates and motivates Christian parents to rise to the challenge of changing the world – one household at a time.

(38)Thoroughly Christian Education

Dr. Voddie Baucham shares what most parents are quick to dismiss: whoever is teaching our children is also discipling them. He argues that Christian parents need to take the initiative in their children’s education and stop turning them over to the anti-God environment of the government school. Using Scripture, statistics, and sound reasoning, Voddie powerfully makes the case that whoever controls the schools does indeed control the world.

(48)Biblical Manhood

The Bible has much to say about manhood. Unfortunately what we learn from culture, from our families, and sometimes even from the church does not line up with what the Bible teaches. In this session we will examine key biblical texts that will help us think differently about what it means to be a man and what it means to raise them. NOTE: While the main topic is Biblical Manhood, Voddie also discusses women’s roles in this workshop. Women are invited to attend with their husbands.

Jennifer Beck

(11)Can Stay-At-Home Moms Save America?

It is no secret America is seeing much change, and unfortunately, that often means a turn away from God. But former television news anchor Jennifer Beck firmly believes that the decisions being made today by Christian homeschooling families can be the catalyst to sway our nation back toward its foundation in Christ. During nearly a decade behind the TV anchor desk, Jennifer followed her aspirations to launch herself higher and higher up the corporate ladder. But one day in 2001, this 6 and 11 pm news anchor could not turn away from God’s calling. She obediently closed the door to all of her career dreams to pursue the true ladder that needed to be climbed: motherhood, homeschooling, and being a help to her husband. Little did she realize how God would bless her family. Let Jennifer inspire you about why our country cannot survive without stay-at-home moms, for it is these mothers who have the time, flexibility and capability to provide key spiritual and physical resources for our country’s future.

(22)Yes You Have Enough Patience. Yes You Are Smart Enough.

(The Outhouse Theory)

Whether it is a new mother homeschooling for the first year, or a veteran teacher suddenly facing the perils of high school level subjects, all parents struggle with feelings of inadequacy. Jennifer Beck wants you to know that yes, you have what it takes to give your children what they need. A firm believer in the fact that God has equipped parents with all necessities to teach their kids, Jennifer will use Biblical principles and verses to encourage new and veteran homeschool parents that as they follow God’s call to educate their children, they can do so with confidence and faith that with Him, they will not fail. Learn how the beauty of God’s creation, the diversity of our world, and yes, even a few outhouses, can inspire your life!

(49)Using God's Plan for Your School

At the end of 2008, Jennifer Beck was faced with something brand new for her educational schedule. Her husband retired. Suddenly, "Dad, the Fun guy" was home every day and he Becks' three girls instantly went into vacation mode. Jennifer was faced with several decisions. She could either throw her hands up and tear out her hair at the collapse of her daily school plan, or seek God's plan when it came to the education of her children. What is God's plan for your children's education? Is it what the public school dictates or is it something else? In this workshop, you will be encouraged to look solely on God when making your homeschooling plan, trusting that He truly knows, better than anyone, what your children need to succeed.

(4)Saul’s Armor and Other Things That Don’t Fit

King Saul wanted David to go into battle wearing his royal armor. David tried it on... it didn't fit. Many of us are invited or even pressured to "try on" a way of parenting, home-schooling, family life...etc. that has worked for someone else, but may or may not work for us. As helpful as all the well-meaning advice of others may be, only God knows your children's hearts and your family's specific needs. It is Beverly's heart to open the word that reveals God’s desire for us to seek HIM and trust Him to " gently lead those that are with young.

(30)WARRIOR MOTHER: Fighting FOR the kids and not WITH them

Why is it that while moms so often desire a close relationship with their children they end up in conflict with them? Not only is homeschooling near impossible when there is tension in the family, but the ability to influence children’s values is lost. In this session Beverly opens the Word to reveal important help for family harmony. She shares about the transformation in her own home when she recognized the spiritual warfare directed at her own children, and made the choice to fight not WITH them, but FOR them.

(20)Escaping the Seduction of American Culture

In the last 50 years America has taken a moral nosedive. Since 1960 the rate of violent crimes has more than tripled, theft is up 250 percent, and illegal drug use is up 400 percent. Marriages are disintegrating, families are breaking down, and promiscuity has become so rampant that 40 percent of children are born out of wedlock and 1 of every 4 teenage girls has an STD. These trends reveal that modern Americans have a narcissistic worldview and lack self-restraint. In this session Reb exposes the parenting philosophies that caused America’s decline, to help Christian parents identify and abandon the polluted well from which they may have been drinking.

(33)Establishing Parental Control in the Home

Few parents today realize how peaceful parenting can be. Their homes are stressful and many are hampered in home education because their children do not respond respectfully to their authority. Children can be trained to obey quickly and with a good attitude, and they need not go through "phases" like the "terrible twos," the "tough threes," and the "trying teens." This workshop will expose to parents many of their blind spots and help them establish the proper parental control necessary for successful child training and home education.

(52)How to Study Shakespeare's Comedies

A study of Shakespeare's early comedies is the best way for the serious student to begin to understand how he used plot, theme, character development and scriptural principles. When the student masters these, he is better prepared for an in depth study of the later comedies, histories, and tragedies.

(12)WRITING: It Is a Hill Worth Dying On

Yes, it is a hill worth dying on, but you don’t have to climb Mt. Everest. Proper writing skills are essential to every student. Extensive "How to Write" curriculum is often overwhelming for both students and parents; therefore, writing becomes an unpleasant chore rather than a fun engaging opportunity. Students end up writing for the sake of completing an assignment: fill the paper with words and check off the "To Do" list. The areas I will be discussing include the importance of selecting a topic, the benefits of identifying specific guidelines, and the necessity of developing critical thinking in writing. When we simplify our goals for writing and focus on mastering the basics, our children no longer feel overwhelmed; they realize they can do it. And parents gain confidence; they realize they have the tools it takes to climb this mountain – they realize they don’t have to climb Mt. Everest.

(10)The Socialization Deception: Redefining the Debate

No question is asked more frequently of homeschooling parents than the ever-popular, "What about socialization?" For years we’ve been answering that question . . . the wrong way. In too many cases, we’ve surrendered to the world’s system of values out of fear and intimidation, without even bothering to stop long enough to think about what we’re doing. In this provocative presentation, homeschool graduate Jonathan Lewis will challenge your thinking and invite you to take a critical look at this whole issue of socialization. You’ll come away with a better understanding of how the world thinks about socialization and how we’ve been needlessly surrendering to the world’s views. You might even end up with a new answer to the old question, "What about socialization?"

(56)Building Relationships That Transform Behavior

Parents and home-school educators have an awesome opportunity to disciple their children in the ways of the Lord throughout the day. (7)Dream BIG

As long as there have been dreams, there have been dream killers. We've all encountered candle snuffers, bubble busters, and wet blankets. They're the ones who constantly remind you why you shouldn't homeschool, have more children, be a stay at home mom, or take that step of faith you believe God would have you take. The world is filled with dream killers. They grew up with you, they live in your house, and sometimes they...are you. Their intentions may be good, but if you listen to them, you will miss out on God's best for your life. Join Todd as he helps you revive old dreams, gives you weapons to battle dream killers, and urges you to throw caution to the wind and set sail for the adventure of a lifetime.

Laugh along with Todd as he cuts away the tall weeds and steers you down the path to what matters most.

(32)Lies Homeschoolers Believe

Your house is a disaster, your kids seem out of control, and you wonder how you'll ever make it through another day of school. Your "get up and go" has "gotten up and went". You used to think homeschooling was the best thing since sliced bread, but now you’re feeling like burnt toast. Take heart - you're not alone! No one homeschools because it's easy. (51)Get REAL!

Are you convinced that every homeschooling family except yours is great? Do you believe the lie that others are more organized, better prepared, have smarter kids, are wiser parents, and have a child in the national spelling bee? Well, let me set the record straight...that's not the way it is! The truth is most moms feel inadequate. Homeschooling moms fear that they're letting their kids down in their education and in example. They feel like their house is out of control, their children are beasts, and the sizzle has left their marriage. Join us as we unleash the power in being REAL. You’ll never be the same again.
