Three ways to legally homeschool in California

PSP – Private Satellite Program

A private school keeps your records for you. Depending on which private school you sign up with sometimes they allow you to be part of their sports program or field trips.

Private Independent

Fill out the private school affidavit each year in October, which makes your own private school. Keep your own records. Information on how to file can be found on HSLDA’s website https://hslda.org/post/california-private-school-affidavit-filing-instructions

Public Charter

A Public School keeps your records for you. They offer classes a few times a week and sometimes they allow you to be part of their sports program or field trips. They offer money for you to use to buy your curriculum.
